Top of the Tee

Twelve members of Bel-Air CC hosted 12 SCGA Foundation juniors for the second annual SCGA G.A.M.E. Club event at Bel-Air last week. The day started with breakfast in the grill, where Bel-Air CC host Todd Tickner and President Peter Best spoke about their careers, fostering some of the programs goals: mentoring, networking and career exploration.  The group then enjoyed a friendly competition, playing a Pinehurst format to encourage camaraderie and fun.

After golf, the group had lunch at the “Top of the Tee,” and the juniors shared what they had learned about life from their mentor on the golf course. Club President Peter Best and junior Bakari Bolden (pictured) were awarded the first place G.A.M.E. Day Trophy, and member Brian Wynn made a presentation to the juniors about his career and life experiences that led to the success of his business, RubiconResources, LLC. Wynn discussed the value of education and following one’s passion with consistent effort and action.

The SCGA Foundation would like to thank JJ Wagner, Dave Podas, Todd Tickner and Peter Best for championing this event at Bel-Air as well as all of the members who donated their day to host the juniors.
