The SCGA Foundation hosted a G.A.M.E. Day event at Hillcrest CC last Wednesday. Sixteen juniors and 16 mentors attended the event, which was organized by G.A.M.E. Day commitee member Carroll Maltzman.

As part of the vocational aspect of the event, the juniors took a tour of the kitchen, led by the head chef at Hillcrest and Bryan Cox, director of food and beverage. The juniors read about the culinary industry before attending the event, and sent questions to Cox ahead of time. Questions included “How do you decide what to cook” and “What steps did you take to go to culinary school.”

The juniors, whose ages ranged from 11-17, are members of the SCGA Foundation’s Youth on Course program and the SCGA’s Foundation partner programs such as the First Tee of Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, and the Tiger Woods Learning Center.
